Coming up next will be the December King Scouts' Standardization to be held from 21/12/2001 till 23/12/2001. There will be two Scouts - Ong Eng Gin and Ho Huei Yang, from Sri Inai who will be attending this standardization. Good luck!

In this festive month, 18th GT(N) Online is not to be missed out as a destination site to surf. We have some very interesting highlights coming up in December and January to celebrate Hari Ray, Christmas and a New Year! Keep a date on 5/12/2001 as we launch our new highlights.

The 18th Georgetown (North) Scouts congratulates Neoh Wen Hong and Neo Chee Seng, both Scouts of Sri Inai who have passed the highest honour in Scouting, the King Scout Award. The awards were presented yesterday by Mr R.S. Gucharan Singh, the Georgetown (North) District Commisioner, during a formal Awards Day ceremony held in the school. Till date, Sri Inai has had a total of 15 King Scouts.

The 44th Jamboree-On-The-Air and Jamboree-On-The-Internet which ended today at Coronation Camp, Penang saw about 1000 participants from Penang, Kedah and Perak. It also saw the Avalon Subcamp, consisting of Sri Inai Scouts and Gudies, Convent Green Lane Guides and Methodist Girls' School Guides, winning many major competitions including Second Overall and Best Website. Gear-up for Recruits Camp 2001 Posted 30/8/2001
Our annual Recruits' Camp will be held for the first time in Coronation Camp. Despite the fact that Malaysia will be celebrating her Merdeka, Form 1 recruits will be having their first camping experience at this camp which aims to develop the Scouts' camping standards.

The Scouts of 7th Georgetown (North) from St. Xavier's Institution organized their 1st Annual Campfire tonight. The Scouts and Guides of Sri Inai managed to clinch the Best Discipline trophy at this campfire.

This grand Heng Ee Campfire called "Glorious Night"  featuring a 90 feet tall gateway will be held on Saturday, 16/06/2001. The gadget built by the Heng Ee Scouts had gone into the Malaysia Book of Records for being the tallest stilt tower in Malaysia and one of the tallest in the world!

Sri Inai win Best Item at CGL Gathering

Sri Inai is back on its winning track again when we finally won the Best Item at the Convent Green Lane Gathering. The credit is given to all those who joined the gathering for the tremendous support that has been given and also to all those who has participated in the items and tried their best.

The Methodist Boys' School has finally announced their long-awaited annual cooking competition, which is to be held on the 7th July 2001.

Gathering For Scouters Posted 24/04/2001
The Georgetown (North) Local Association of Scouts will hold its annual general meeting at Copthorne Orchid Hotel on April 30 at 7p.m. It will be preceded by a gathering of Scouters in Georgetown North District at 6p.m. All Scouters and lay members are required to attend.

Troop Leaders' Course

On the 13/04/2001, a Troop Leaders' Training Course was held at Coronation Camp. This 3 days 2 nights camp is organized to train the future leaders of the troop. There were about 30 participants in this camp.

Sri Inai wins Best Banner at MGS Gathering

New State Scout Commisioner

Last week, the Penang Scouts Association welcomes the new State Scout Commisioner for 2001, Mr Khoo Heng San, who will be taking over the post from Mr Khoo-Yeoh Gan Hong. Mr Khoo-Yeoh Gan Hong has been holding the post since 1988 and during his tenure, Scouting in Penang has been advancing. Mr Khoo-Yeoh Gan Hong has been actively involved in Scouting since his early days. Let us bid a farewell to him.

Sri Inai Wins 1st Runners-Up at Westlands!!!

Another achievement, another record! The Sri Inai Scouts and Guides attended the Westlands Campfire tonight and won the 1st Runners-Up trophy. We would like to express our thanks to the Scouts of Westlands (24th Georgetown North) for the prize and congratulations for organizing such a great campfire.
During the campfire, Sri Inai's highlight was an amazing and eye-catching performance of Cartoon Heroes complete with all the dressed-up heroes.

This year's campfire organized by SMK Westlands has made one of the greatest impact in Scouting events held in Penang in 2001. It will be held at Coronation Camp and we shall be attending it! Now, we have heard so far that there will be at least about 900 Scouts and Guides attending the event including Sri Inai (Wow!). Be amazed and watch out for some explosive performances to be put up by our Scouts and Guides and be sure to support us! Thank you.

Kemahiran Camp

From the 23/02/2001 till 25/02/2001, Scouts from Sri Inaiu who are involved in test-taking and the King Scouts' Standardization attended a Kemahiran Camp held at Coronation Camp. The idea for this camp is for Form 2 and 3 Scouts to complete their Usaha, Maju, Jaya and Lima Lencana tests, while the Form 4 and 5 Scouts will undergo a training for the upcoming State Adventure Camp and King Scouts' Standardization.

Founder's Day Rally

On the 18/02/2001, the Scouts from Sri Inai attended the Founder's Day Rally 2001 organized by the Georgetown (North) Local Association of Scouts. This is to celebrate the birthday of the founder of the Scouting movement, Lord Baden-Powell, which falls on the 22nd February each year.

On the 17/02/2001, about 30 Scouts and Guides from Sri Inai visited the Royal Malaysian Air Force Base in Butterworth and the Forest Reserve in Bukit Mertajam.

When we were told that the Westlands campfire was to be held on the 3/03/2001, there seems to be something worng with it because it clashes with the State Adventure Camp which is also to be held at Coronation Camp. Finally, details were confirmed last week that it will be held on the 10/03/2001. Please take note. Thank you.

The Penang State Scout Council celebrated the Chinese New Year with a grand open-house held at the Penang Scout Headquarters at Solok Scotland last Saturday at 2.00p.m. This function was attended by the Deputy Chief Minister, State Commisioners, Scout Commissioners, several Guiders, Scouts and Guides. Significant items held include a lion dance presentation.

We are also among the prestigious top 35 out of 117 websites selected by a panel of judges. 18th GT(N) Online is definitely here to stay as the top Scouting website in Malaysia.

Georgetown (North) District organizes Walkathon for Scouts

The Georgetown (North) Local Association of Scouts have announced that they will be organizing a fund-raising charity walkathon on 3/03/2001. This walkathon is intended to raise funds for the future projects organized by the Georgetown (North) Scout Association, including the state-level JOTA-JOTI camp. Scouts within the district have already been given a collection card each. Please support!!!
